Building homes, communities and hope for families right here in Amarillo!

Meet the Habitat Staff

Working together to achieve the Habitat mission!

Sarah Curtis | Director of Family Services

Sarah has been with Amarillo Habitat since November 2013. She serves as our Director of Family Services - managing the procedures for the recruitment and selection of homeowner families, the programs designed to support families after they have been selected and the sale of the homes to the families. Sarah and her husband Nathan have two kids, Mia and Kaylem, and two dogs, Lucy and Sam. She loves spending time outdoors, being with her family and traveling when she can. "Building relationships with the families", is her favorite part about working with Habitat. After all the hard work the families put into purchasing the home and the relationships built, Sarah is so excited to "hand over the keys" at the House Blessings and welcome our partner families into homeownership.

Shannon has been with Amarillo Habitat since January 2018. She serves as the Resource Director - responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring fundraising efforts. The goal is to increase funding from various constituencies, raise awareness, and assist in building relationships in the community.  She also conducts payroll activities as well as accounts payable and receivable for the organization. Shannon, her husband SL, and their two children Madison and Meredith all share a love for animals raising 3 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise, a hedgehog, a few cows, and numerous chickens. Shannon loves the mission aspect of our organization, "truly seeing the mission statement put into action daily--serving God while serving our partner families." She loves the people she works with, from the staff and board to the volunteers to the partner families and the donors.

Nathan Thiesfeld | ReStore Assistant Manager

Nathan has been employed with the Habitat ReStore since July 2017 and serves as the ReStore Assistant Manager.  Although he was born in Texas, he was raised in Oregon, and fortunately, found his way back to the Lone Star State.  Nathan’s ReStore experience did not begin in Amarillo.  He was actually employed at the Habitat of the Rio Grande Valley ReStore before moving to the Texas Panhandle.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with his friends.   Nathan has always believed in the Habitat mission as a whole because it helps those in need and his work allows him to be a servant to his community.

Kim Webb | ReStore Manager

Kim has been with Habitat since September of 2016.  She has served as Volunteer Coordinator, Development Director, and now, in her current role of ReStore Manager.  She has extensive retail experience making her perfect in leadership over our ReStore, which supports the building of Habitat homes.  Amarillo has always been home to Kim, her husband Andy, and their three children Katie, Kenzie, and Corey.  Kim plays an active role in her church at Tascosa Road Fellowship and enjoys DIY projects in her spare time.  This mission of Habitat, especially the ministry, has always spoken to Kim’s heart. She believes through the ReStore, we are not only helping to fund our program, but we are also able to extend our mission to the community. We do this by serving as a place where someone can come to find low cost items to remodel, decorate, and furnish their existing house to help make it a place where they are proud to call it home.  Kim loves that we endeavor to make a difference in each life that we touch.
