Meet the Habitat Staff

Working together to achieve the Habitat mission!

Sarah Curtis | Director of Family Services

Sarah has been with Amarillo Habitat since November 2013. She serves as our Director of Family Services - managing the procedures for the recruitment and selection of homeowner families, the programs designed to support families after they have been selected and the sale of the homes to the families. Sarah and her husband Nathan have two kids, Mia and Kaylem, and two dogs, Lucy and Sam. She loves spending time outdoors, being with her family and traveling when she can. "Building relationships with the families", is her favorite part about working with Habitat. After all the hard work the families put into purchasing the home and the relationships built, Sarah is so excited to "hand over the keys" at the House Blessings and welcome our partner families into homeownership.

Shannon Jordan | Resource Director

Shannon has been with Amarillo Habitat since January 2018. She serves as the Resource Director - responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring fundraising efforts. The goal is to increase funding from various constituencies, raise awareness, and assist in building relationships in the community.  She also conducts payroll activities as well as accounts payable and receivable for the organization. Shannon, her husband SL, and their two children Madison and Meredith all share a love for animals raising 3 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise, a hedgehog, a few cows, and numerous chickens. Shannon loves the mission aspect of our organization, "truly seeing the mission statement put into action daily--serving God while serving our partner families." She loves the people she works with, from the staff and board to the volunteers to the partner families and the donors.

William Larkin | Construction Supervisor

William started with the Habitat ReStore in January 2018.  After demonstrating an interest in our home building, he began serving as our Construction Assistant, which eventually led to his current position as Construction Supervisor.  In his position, he coordinates all of our building projects, manages all of our construction materials, supervises all construction activities and maintains our affiliate vehicles and equipment.  William is a son of the Texas Panhandle having been born and raised in Pampa, TX.  He is on 12th year in the Army National Guard and served one tour in Iraq.  His favorite past time is spending time with his daughter Camdyn and tries to go sky diving every chance he gets.  He believes Habitat is “a fantastic organization that helps the community by helping people in need of a hand up.” He is drawn to the culture of Amarillo Habitat and thoroughly enjoys working with his coworkers.

Alason Moorhead | Executive Director

Alason has been with Amarillo Habitat since 2014. She serves as our Executive Director - providing leadership and vision for our affiliate. In addition, she reports to the Board and is responsible for staff management, internal and external public relations, donor solicitation and recognition, volunteer recruitment and recognition, family selection, budget development, and adherence, oversight of the ReStore operations, and ensuring that board policies and goals are implemented by its committees.  Alason is a proud graduate at Texas A&M University and has resided in Amarillo since 2008 with her husband Jed, her daughter Avery, her son Mack, and their dog Maggie. Alason has 11 years of experience working in non-profits and is "humbled to be a part of Habitat's legacy". She is looking forward to "continuing the pursuit of affordable housing options in our community." She is passionate about affordable housing and feels the work here at Habitat is "imperative and is privileged to have a hand in it".

Nathan Thiesfeld | ReStore Assistant Manager

Nathan has been employed with the Habitat ReStore since July 2017 and serves as the ReStore Assistant Manager.  Although he was born in Texas, he was raised in Oregon, and fortunately, found his way back to the Lone Star State.  Nathan’s ReStore experience did not begin in Amarillo.  He was actually employed at the Habitat of the Rio Grande Valley ReStore before moving to the Texas Panhandle.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with his friends.   Nathan has always believed in the Habitat mission as a whole because it helps those in need and his work allows him to be a servant to his community.

Kim Webb | ReStore Manager

Kim has been with Habitat since September of 2016.  She has served as Volunteer Coordinator, Development Director, and now, in her current role of ReStore Manager.  She has extensive retail experience making her perfect in leadership over our ReStore, which supports the building of Habitat homes.  Amarillo has always been home to Kim, her husband Andy, and their three children Katie, Kenzie, and Corey.  Kim plays an active role in her church at Tascosa Road Fellowship and enjoys DIY projects in her spare time.  This mission of Habitat, especially the ministry, has always spoken to Kim’s heart. She believes through the ReStore, we are not only helping to fund our program, but we are also able to extend our mission to the community. We do this by serving as a place where someone can come to find low cost items to remodel, decorate, and furnish their existing house to help make it a place where they are proud to call it home.  Kim loves that we endeavor to make a difference in each life that we touch.

Citlaly Zamarripa | Community Relations Director

Citlaly joined the Amarillo Habitat team as the Community Relations Director in September 2020.  She was born and raised in Dumas, Texas, but moved to Amarillo in 2015 with her husband, Joel.  Citlaly serves as a youth leader at Encounter Church and is a proud dog mom to her beloved Lilo. Citlaly looks forward to her journey with Habitat in her work with the community.
